Fresly cooked chicken soup in tamarind broth is really delicious especially if it’s hot it’s good to have this on a cold weather. Here are the ingredients: chicken, cut into serving pieces flower buds of Sampalok. Traditionally it’s Sampalok leaves onion long green pepper ginger garlic Knorr sa sinigang sa sampalok mix Knorr chicken cube aside from these, we also need water and fish sauce let’s start. Pre heat cooking pot once hot, add the chicken one by one cook one side until light brown then we’ll flip it to cook the other side this process is called searing where we cook directly the meat on a hot surface like this pot it has 2 purposes: partially cooking the chicken and extracting the oil at the same time remove the chicken one by one. Set aside because we need extra space for cooking we’ll saute the garlic and onion in the extracted chicken oil here goes the garlic let’s put in everything. Let’s not waste anything then add the onion here goes the red onion any color of onion will do next is ginger this makes our dish special among others because we use ginger cook until onion is soft then we’ll put back the chicken to cook it again add water. This will serve as the soup for our dish let it simmer let’s prepare the Sampalok Flower buds place the flower buds on the cheesecloth if you’re using sampalok leaves, you may also do this step tie the cheesecloth using kitchen twine we’re doing this so the flower buds won’t scatter all over the pot while cooking but we can still extract the flavor while cooking make sure it’s tightly tied we can now put it here in the pot since it’s already boiling here goes the sampalok flower buds inside the cheesecloth this ingredient gives mild sour flavor to our dish to make more flavorful, add Knorr chicken cube and richer chicken flavor stir add long green pepper cover the pot and cook until chicken is tender at this point, the chicken is tender. Let me have a taste of the soup mmm~ the chicken flavor is there but let’s make it more sour remove the sampalok flower buds add Knorr sinigang sa sampalok mix to make it more sour I want this to be tingly-sour, isn’t that delicious? add fish sauce let me get the fish sauce here it goes ok, then stir cook for few more minutes transfer to a serving bowl and serve anyone can cook this dish even for beginners.
