Hello all friends, welcome to my channel. Thank you very much for tuning in. Today is Sunday yesterday I made beef noodle soup a big pot with beef bones. I have a small pot of broth left that I want to finish. Lay the thinly sliced meat the hot broth poured on top will cook it. I bought a piece of beef and then sliced it myself it’s not as thin as if you have it sliced at the market They have a machine that can slice it very thinly. For the herbs today I only have sawtooth and cilantro. Then I sprinkle some black pepper on top I add all the condiments now so when I add the hot broth, I can just eat it. If I add the broth first then add the condiments it can get cold. Ground chili. I don’t need to put the hoisin sauce. I’ve tasted my broth and I like it. This is pickled chilies that I made. Fried garlic, I also made this it’s smells really good. Nice and dry too. Add the hot broth and it will cook the meat. If you prefer a more cooked beef then you have to cook it in the broth For me, I like my meat medium rare. I also have meatballs, carrots, I add them because Eli and Naly likes it it taste sweet. As well as beef bone. See? Loaded bowl. Squeeze some lime too. A big loaded bowl. A few days ago it was sunny hot. Like hot in the upper 70s almost 80. Then yesterday and today it’s a bit cold. It’s good since I made noodle soup Cold weather makes it enjoyable and tasty. Today I have Chinese donut. I bought this since Friday evening. I reheat it in the air fryer just 3 mins in 400 degrees and it’s hot and crunchy. See? Can you all hear it? Mommy, here’s water. Thank you. Naly brought me some water. She’s thoughtful. A few days ago in the news here in America they talked about the coronavirus Some people started preparing and went shopping to buy water and supplies including Khmer people as well. So this evening we have to go to the market not to stock up but because we ran out of rice now. We usually do our grocery shopping on the weekends since on the weekdays I work. I heard on the news at some Costco, a wholesale store, they sold out of water, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes but this evening I have to get diapers for Eli. Hmm! The broth splashed. By the time I get to the meat, it’s cooked. This time I did not get to add tripe and tendons if I had that, it would be awesome. OK, I’m going to sit and finish my noodles see you again in a bit OK? We are now at the market shopping. We came to Walmart and not dare go to Costco as I heard things at Costco are sold out. Corona is coming. We got a full cart now. Actually, I came for the diapers but I ended up with some water and also toilet paper. Soft drinks. Cup o’ noodles. We only got a case of water. 28 bottles. Chaos among the Khmer The Americans aren’t scared like us. Eli, are you worried about coronavirus? He doesn’t care. Eli does not care about coronavirus. This is our usual weekly grocery shopping. To take to work and such. If it was about the coronavirus the husband said
he would be buy everything in the store. Not just a case of water. Bought it for when we have guest at home they can each have a bottle. Why fear Karona (Pich) the singer (Khmer singer). Not the singer but the Corona beer. Oh the Corona beer, that’s a tasty drink. Drink the Corona beer to fight against the coronavirus. This is the brand of toilet paper we use. I don’t use the Costco brand I don’t use the Costco brand because that’s a bit thicker and it had clogged my toilet a few times. I called a plumber and they suggest I use this kind because it’s dissolves quick when it touches the water A pack of this cost $15 USD. My house has 3 bathrooms so it’s imperative that we use a toilet paper that quickly dissolves. We got pork, chicken just not beef. Oxtail too. This is pork. Instant noodle. Chicken gizzards. I tried to stay away from Costco because I can never exit Costco with a small receipt. Now at Walmart, it ring up to $175 USD. It’s like escape the tiger only to meet the alligator. We are not done yet still have to buy rice at the Asian market. My rice supply happens to be low right when people are fearing the coronavirus. Not stocking up, just getting 1 bag of rice. Naly is crying, she wants a toy. She didn’t get it, so she’s crying. You got use to it? Eli is giving you a stare. Eli doesn’t care. You see how it is when go shopping with kids? Busy left and right and loud every where. We are now at the Asian supermarket. It’s called SF Supermarket. I come to this store often. Let’s see what we end up buying and how many bills we end up spending. We ran out of rice when the price went up. We got a bag of rice, it’s $46 USD. Check this out every body, Rice all gone. Different brands. Got a bag of rice, this time we also got sweet rice too. Fish sauce, another durain fruit, and some greens to make pickled mustard greens. Naly is giving us a gift today. Open it. Open it together. Pa! Wait, Pa is busy. Right now Naly is setting up the stage for Mom & Dad to sit next to each other. and this got this big egg as a gift. She warn me not to ask her what’s inside. She will tell me. What else are we doing Naly? You can’t ask a question. OK. You got to open it with my Daddy. Let Mommy open and show. Pa open too! Oh Pa open too? OK, 1 Will it explode Naly? Will it pop? No? It’s not. I don’t know. 1 Naly scoot in next to Eli so they can see the gift giver. 1, 2, 3! It’s a hatchimal for you, you could keep it. A little animal, what else? A string, why you give Mommy a string? It’s to tie your shirt. Oh so to look pretty? It’s for you. A special gift. What is this? You open it. It’s not going to pop. It’s a balloon. It’s OK, I don’t need it anymore. Paper. WOW! What is it Naly? It’s a Christmas tree and I made it rainbow. Oh it’s sideways. She drew a Christmas tree with rainbow colors. There’s a star on the top. Tell them in Khmer. Star. What else is there? That’s the green tree and that’s the ornaments. I just draw that. OK, that’s it? – May I put it back in?
– Yeah. The end. Mommy thought it was something. Mommy thought it was a cake, like a birthday. No, that can be dirty. Now Naly have a seat, Pa will give you a gift. OK. Close your eyes OK? Pa give you a gift. Pa give you a gift, will you be happy? OK. Open your eyes. Give Pa a kiss? Kiss Mommy too. It’s Pa gift. When you give Mommy a gift, why Mommy didn’t scream like that? Look at Eli. It’s over. Now it’s Eli’s gift to Daddy. Here Eli go to your dad. Stinky poop! Greetings again all friends, we are now in our backyard in our garden area. As you know here in America many people are concern mostly Asians, worried about the coronavirus. At every store and market, on the news and what’s shared on facebook Asians are stocking up on rice, water and toilet paper. It’s all gone. I see at some stores people are standing in long lines. However for us we went to buy plants. Plants that we are able to get at the American store. Like said, at the American store
they mostly carry domestic plants. As for the Asian plants the Asian stores haven’t got them in yet. We are preparing to put the plants in the ground. If something happens, we have vegetables to eat. We also have chickens and eggs in our backyard. The trellis that you see here we put it up across last year. Up against the wall. We planted cucumbers last time. This year the husband adjust it. He put it like this. Still planting cucumbers but this time a different variety. It’s called lemon cucumber. Here is the tag. It’s called lemon cucumber. There’s a lot. There’s worm. These are broccoli seedling. It’s the single stem broccoli it’s now the big crown like you see at the market. I don’t know what happened. That’s crazy. Let him play by himself. These are lettuce. We also planted a bed of lettuce too but it has not come up yet. This bed here. Put it in. Good. Good. Upside down. Naly very good, plant upside down. Save these for the chickens or for the humans? For the chickens. Go feed the chickens. Let the chickens eat it. Those leaves are broken, save for the chickens. Now planting tomatoes. The hairy chili that was growing along here now only a few plants left. The tomato can be planted in the middle. It’s OK, this much chili plant is enough. Last year I got a good harvest It will last me over 2 years. This is the nectarine tree it’s in full bloom right now. Now it’s the cilantro time. CILANTRO. Planting this next to the green onions. This much green onion is plenty for us. You cut and they grow again. This is my cocktail fruit tree there isn’t much flowers left as it’s starting to grow leaves. Peach flowers. Tiny white ones are plums. These big white ones are the apricots and nectarines. That’s what is left. Eli, you are walking all over the place. Where are you going? This is my cherry tree. Now new leaves are starting to emerge. I have hope this year we will get to pick the cherries. This single tree has 3 varieties of cherries. Each variety helps pollinates the other. Some variety does not produce good fruit if plant alone. As it does not have another variety to help pollinate. When buying a cherry tree, get this type it’s good. The type with a single tree but multiple varieties on it. That’s it for this vlog. Thank you very much everyone for watching. See you in the next episode OK? Bye-bye. Naly are you a young girl or old girl? Are you young girl or old girl dear? Will you let other people hug Pa? Will you allow them? No. Why? The police will catch you. You do you allow to hug Pa? Oun Naly. Who else? Oun Naly stay with Pa. Who else? ???? How about Mommy? Mommy talk on the phone. You don’t let Mommy hug Pa? Mommy don’t hug. The other day Pa hold Mommy hands, what did you say? Naly cried. Why did you cry? Pa hold hand. Mommy hand on the bottom, Pa hand on the top. Yeah, just hold hands why did you cry? Because Pa did not hold Oun Naly hands too. Is Naly young girl or old girl? Oun Naly young girl. Who’s old girl? Mommy. Too much! Daddy and daughter you are too much! Mommy is also a young girl. No. She said she is a young girl. Naly likes Pa. Why do you like Pa? Oun Naly don’t want Pa to go to work. Let Pa go to work. No! Do you want Mommy to go to work? No! Yes! Let Mommy stay home? No. Let Mommy stay home and take care Oun Naly. Pa will go to work. No! Who’s going to cook for you if Mommy go to work? Papa. What does Pa cook? What food does Pa cook? He cooks broccoli. Mommy also knows how to cook broccoli. I don’t want you anymore. I want Daddy. OK, you are tough. The other day Oun Naly loves Mommy and Naly gave Mommy flower. What happened now? What happened to that day? Oun Naly stop picking them. You stop? Yeah stop picking. She said she stop picking flower on the side yard. She picked and gave me a bunch the other day. I fed them all to the chickens.
