Hello folks it is Barry here welcome to my
virgin kitchen now what is the opposite of giant food? That is right mini food, now I
have not done mini food for so long, but today we are going to be doing some mini chicken
nuggets. The size of your tears hopefully, lets give it a go.
That is right the object of mini food is to make the dish the size of this plate which
is about the size of this coin so lets get our chicken nuggets on the go. What I have
got is some fine breadcrumbs right here, this does look like a shot of orange juice but
that is some beaten egg. Some tweezers, scissors and a bamboo skewer these are both clean and
only used for the purposes of mini food folks. That is dedication right there.
So right here are some mini chicken fillets, I have some water that is coming to the boil
and I am simply going to poach that so that it is cooked through for ten minutes then
we will cut it up mini size. Right here we go I am just cutting into our chicken right
here, so nice and tender, that is the benefit of poaching it as I say, so I am just going
to cut it into mini chunks like this to make our nuggets we should have a big old pile
of chicken any minute now. Alright then nice big pile, or big mini pile of chicken pieces.
Lets get the tweezers take a piece of chicken and dunk it into our egg like so nice, ok
so will just drop it on top like so and use my bamboo skewer to push it around and get
some nice breadcrumbs on it. To get it nice and coated just like a standard chicken nugget,
I am just going to repeat that to every one of our chunks of chicken. Placing down my
last one done a nice little batch for now it does kind of look like a crazy breakfast
cereal but I think we are ready for frying. So I am heating up my oil, with this step
folks even mini size if you get oil on yourself it is going to hurt you so these are going
in there once it is nice and hot, I hope this works.
Here we go then folks got the standard slotted spoon just big enough so it will not fall
through the gaps, lets lower them into some hot oil here we go. Looking good so far they
are just waddling around the pan as they go the heat on the oil is a little lower so I
have a bit more control of it to get the colour right. So nearly ready now I have the spoon
here ready to bring them out, in fact looking at that golden colour lets pop them out right
now. I am really happy with that colour I will now just repeat that step until we have
loads of mini nuggets. Going to be brave, here we go.
So here we go then folks our plate of freshly made chicken nuggets I have double that amount
leftover anyway that was just for half a fillet and for scale purposes here is a grape sat
alongside it like that, the only way to eat these is in a shot glass, yeah baby.
Ok so they are in a shot glass little bit of barbecue sauce in there for some lubrication
down the hatch it goes! Shiver me timbers that was absolutely stonking
guys so fresh and randomly like the other mini foods surprisingly filling indeed and
the cool thing is I even have dessert so have my grape right here if you have not seen the
