Meh..Not exactly! Poultry are domesticated birds kept by humans for their eggs, their meat or their feathers. These birds are most typically members of the superorder Gallonserae(Fowsl). Especially the order Galliformes which includes chickens, quails and turkeys. Now before getting started, we need to know some important terms related to poultry to understand the things clearly. Number-1: ‘Breed’. According to breed, we distinctify the same group of animals most specifically birds when they are in stock. Number-2: ‘Variety’. Usually, we find differences among the same breeds of birds observing their colour, crests & physical characteristics. Number-3: ‘Baby chick’ Baby chicks are nothing but just born chickens or less than 1-year-old chickens. Number-4: ‘Pullet’. Same as baby chicks. Less than one-year-old chickens or the chickens who are unable to produce eggs or more baby chicks. Another thing we know this as a ‘Rooster’ but usually in a poultry farm, it’s called cock. Number-5: ‘Broiler’. Hens used for meat production are called Broiler breed. Number -6: ‘Layer’. Layer breed hens lay a large number of eggs. Number-7: ‘Breeder’. [Children Wonder] Oh..oh..oh. This couple seems to be in a very romantic mood. They are involved in a biological mechanism. you know! [Clear throats] Alright. So basically the hens & cocks who are capable of production are known as Breeder. Now let’s get the summary. So we’ve known about Breed.
